Ohio Valley History is the peer-reviewed scholarly journal of the history of Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and the broader Ohio Valley region. It descends directly from the Filson Club History Quarterly, which began publication in 1893 — making it one of the longest continuously published state historical journals in the country.
Published quarterly in partnership with the Cincinnati Museum Center, the journal carries original research articles, edited primary documents, book reviews, and essays from historians working on the people, places, and ideas of the American interior.

The Filson
Published three times a year
The Filsonis the magazine of the historical society — written for members, donors, and the wider community. Each issue covers what’s on exhibit, recent acquisitions, programs and lectures, and feature stories drawn directly from the collections.
Members receive The Filson in print and digital. Individual issues are also available in the gift shop during a visit.
